Our Communities

Quality and Compliance

The Image Group is serious about impacting social change and raising compliance awareness within the promotional products industry.

We’re proud to be one of 11 members of the Distributor Advocacy Council for the Quality Certification Alliance (QCA). QCA is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit accrediting organization for promotional products industry suppliers. Its mission is to elevate the standards by which promotional products manufacturers and importers provide safe and socially compliant merchandise.

The Image Group has made a commitment to giving preferred status to suppliers who are QCA certified. To earn QCA certification, suppliers must complete multiple independent third-party audits and comply with stringent national and international manufacturing standards.

To demonstrate a serious commitment to meeting our clients’ expectations for product safety and compliance, we’ve pledged that 90 percent of our purchasing will be done with QCA accredited suppliers within the next three years.

They’re called Generation Y, or Millennials, or countless other monikers referring to the newest members of the full-time workforce. Some criticize the age group for exhibiting a sense of entitlement, or for being overly attached to their smart phones. To be sure, the stereotypes abound. But we’ve recently hired some amazing young people who are [...]

In these pages, you’ll learn about recent efforts to ensure that The Image Group’s entire supply chain shares our interest in safety and social compliance. Paris. New York. London. Milan. And now, thanks to The Image Group, Cleveland (or, to be specific, Independence, Ohio) joins the list of fashion capitals of the world. Okay, maybe that’s a stretch. But fashion is the focus of The Image Group’s 2015 Product Expo coming up April 29. Wearable branded merchandise continues to be [...]

Fifty-six percent of U.S. consumers own a writing instrument imprinted with a company logo. In the Midwest, that number jumps to 68 percent. People keep logoed writing instruments an average of six months and use them multiple times every day. That makes writing instruments the top owned promotional products around. And, according to ASI’s 2014 [...]

This week, we buried a beloved coworker, Cliff Milios. Cliff worked in the promotional products industry for most of his life. Some people here worked with Cliff for a short time, while others worked alongside him for decades and at various companies. His quick wit kept us in stitches, and his commitment to customer service [...]

Baseball’s Colorado Rockies had a special gift for the first 15,000 fans entering Coors Field for last Saturday’s home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates: a free jersey featuring the name and number of the team’s shortstop, Troy Tulowitzki. Unfortunately, the All-Star player’s name was misspelled. Omitting the second T, the jerseys contained the spelling “Tulowizki.” [...]

The Image Group has placed among the top twelve employers in the promotional products industry, according to PPB. The magazine’s June issue features this year’s “12 Greatest Companies To Work For,” a listing of companies nominated by their employees as excellent places to work. Each year, PPB seeks employee nominations to identify and applaud the nation’s [...]

[answer] The Consumer Protection Safety Improvement Act of 2008 Aimed at enhancing child safety, the Consumer Protection Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requires that all children’s products undergo stringent testing for lead content, phthalates, removable parts, flammable textiles, and other proven hazards. The law applies to all children’s products, including promotional products that children might receive. [...]

A new study by Ecology Center found that 71 percent of university-themed merchandise sold at major retailers contains unacceptable amounts of hazardous chemicals. Researchers at the Michigan-based nonprofit tested sixty-five items and found substances banned or restricted from consumer goods, including arsenic, lead, mercury, phthalates, and toxic flame-retardants. More than a third of the tested [...]

News reports abound about unscrupulous manufacturers – many operating in foreign factories with little or no oversight – requiring their employees to work long hours at unfair pay and in unsafe conditions. At the same time, a growing number of lawsuits result in recalls of children’s products containing excessive amounts of lead, dangerous drawstrings, loose [...]

We're committed to ensuring that all children's products manufactured by and for our company comply with requirements set forth by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) established numerous regulations and testing requirements for children’s products. Under CPSIA, consumer goods are considered children’s products if they are designed or intended primarily for use by children 12 years of age or younger.

As part of our commitment to product safety, The Image Group commissions independent testing for the following CPSC-regulated standards:
