Associate Creative Director

Marlene Schmitt, our Associate Creative Director, takes creative inspiration from the words of legendary 20th century graphic designer Saul Bass – “Design is thinking made visual”.  A 1997 graduate of Kent State University’s School of Visual Communication Design, Marlene brings over 20 years of experience visualizing client’s thoughts into creative and engaging designs that help build their marketing success.

Marlene joined The Image Group in 2018, heading up our team of graphic artists to deliver creative visual solutions to our clients, as well as overseeing our extensive production art needs in support of our in-house decorating operations. When she’s not busy creating captivating visual communications Marlene enjoys spending time with family, watching her daughters practice their karate and gymnastics skills, bike riding, and hiking in our Toledo Metroparks.  To relax Marlene likes to curl up with a good book or catch up on the latest episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Stranger Things.

Marlene likes to quote Maya Angelou in saying “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”.  Marlene believes this same concept holds true with graphic design – create a design that elicits feeling and it will stand the test of time.
